Meet the Owner

Stephen F. Kenney and Joe E. Bostic are the principals of Kenney Construction, Inc.  Steve, a Raleigh, NC native, and Joe, a Greensboro native, established a friendship while playing football at Clemson University.  After graduating in xxxx, Joe and Steve continued to play football for the National Football League.  Joe played in the NFL for the St. Louis Cardinals for 11 years while Steve enjoyed a successful career playing for the Philidelphia Eagles for 7 years and the Detroit Lions for 1 year.  Steve was named to the Eagles’ Team of the Decade.

Following his retirement from the NFL in 1987 due to a back injury, Steve focused on his real estate career by developing single-family residential subdivisions in the North Raleigh area of Wake County. Steve was recognized and received awards for several of his single-family project located in the North Raleigh area.  In the mid 1990’s, while still developing single-family neighborhoods, Steve began the transition into the development and ownership of apartment communities.  By 2001 Steve had sold the last of his remaining single-family lots and was devoting 100% of his time to the multi-family industry.  In the spring of 2003, Steve joined with longtime friend and college teammate, Joe Bostic, to form Kenney Construction, Inc.

Subsequent to his retirement from the NFL in 1989, Joe made real estate his career as well. He quickly obtained his contractor’s license and began building larger apartment communities throughout the Southeast. Joe became involved in local politics and in xxxx was elected to serve as ____________. In 1995, Joe was a recipient of the Ten Outstanding Young Americans, which was awarded by the U.S. Junior Chamber of Commerce. Joe was elected to Clemson’s All-Centennial Football Team as well as the Clemson University Athletic Hall of Fame.
